One year after Breaking Dawn
It’s been one year since the Volturi came with the intention of killing the Cullens and the so-called immortal child Renesmee. After coming to the conclusion that Renesmee is not in fact an immortal child they left the new family in peace. With that said, over a year has passed since Bella was finally turned into a vampire and has adjusted well to the lifestyle. Her eyes have finally taken on that golden tint that the other Cullen’s possess. Renesmee has grown some in that amount of time, and naturally the family sees more and more of Jacob each day.
All of this peace is about to mean nothing though, as a new coven of vampires is on the rise. Led by the unseen leader Anwyn, a coven of vampires known as the Powers, have taken it upon themselves to rid the world of other vampires who lack a special gift. They call themselves the Powers after one of the nine choirs of angels, ironically the warriors that kept evil at bay. Once a small operation over the past hundred years, the numbers have begun to rise and have started to spread beyond Iceland and Greenland where it all began.
What is the Volturi’s place in all of this? Well of course they can’t have anyone going around killing their own kind and possibly becoming a threat to them. Now that the Powers have spread across the globe, they prose an even greater threat to the Volturi as they continue to gain more members with special abilities. The Volturi are out to stop the Powers in order to prevent a large social upheaval in the vampire world. The Powers are working on keeping a low profile if they can, not wanting to alert the Volturi. If other vampires thought the Volturi were bad, the Powers are even worse. Their views on humans is that they are nothing but cattle, and vampires without special abilities are abominations. And if you're not with the Powers you are against them. They have been known to kill a vampire with a special ability because they refused to join.
A possible war is looming between the Volturi and the Powers. The question each vampire and non-vampire must ask themselves is what side do you choose?
Washington, most importantly, Forks, has become a largely popular spot for traveling vampires to stop and stay for periods of time. And with vampires come more werewolves/shape-shifters. The Humans are still obvious to the world around them, but for how long will the secret world stay under wraps?
