*snugs everyone* Oh-kies. While doing my laundry - part of the oh-so glam life of a boarder - I came up with this way bizare idea for a plot. but...its kinda out there, so feel free to smack me upside the head. See...what if Raoul had died during the rescue? His brother is a wee bit douche-y, you see...and while he doesn't like Raoul all that much, he is very fond of power. He would demand retribution from Narnia by demanding a hefty price...or marriage to one of the daughters of the royal house. We could have a newbie take a princess, but I guess its also possible that they wouldn't mind Natalie who's practically one of the fam anyway as a sacrifice. This idea could be built upon or forgotten entirely - its up to y'all. so...what say you? (on the other hand, jules, I'm so thinking of bringing Lei back, which is neither wise nor possible xD

That sounds like Prince John/Richard the Lionheart thing to me. Sounds like a good idea.

I agree it's brilliant idea, and it would be epic to rp bring on the butter knifes and i'd hate to be a spoil sport but there is just one thing that we need to consider. Raoul is Maria's char, and though she was inactive for the A-check she might come back, she has before, and then we would have killed off her character. So alternatively to dead I’d go for "missing but presumed dead"

*GIVESFELLOWHISTORYNERDSULTRASNUG* But ohmigod. Forgot to say - *facedesks* - but I had this idea where he's presumed dead and she's all emo and then BAM. I just didn't know how to carry it out xDD Missing makes WAY more sense

Then we can say he's presumed dead, or missing, instead of saying he's actually dead. But missing an activity check is missing an activity check, is it not?

Eh... but what if something happened, Pete? I hope not, but what if her laptop got stolen or something? Mar was pretty active... I don't think she'd just forget about us or ignore us for no reason. It's not my place to say so, though. But if we don't have to kill off her character, I don't think we should. *shrugs*

That's true, but we've been without plot for... a while. Unless we can think of somethin' else?

I am just saying, that yes she missed an A check, and she got deleted for it. Rules are rules after all, but Raoul is not our character so it is not up to us to make definite decisions such as death should she choose to return one day.
But i think that the plot we have here now is very good and i'll try to write it out when i get back from work tonight and then we can see if there need to be alterations, if not it gets added to the official plot and we can all get back to happy rping? everyone ok with that?

Look, I adore Mar, and miss her like you wouldn't believe, and I seriously hope that she'll be back soon, saying that she had comp/internet problems or whatevs. Everyone has those days, right? I've missed A-checks and got deleted, ut here I am. She should get the chance to come back as well, so no deletion of character.
What I suggest, though, is that we speed time up by one year: say that one year has already passed in which the king has been missing, his brother-in-law standing in his place and ordering marriage negotiations and whatnot. That way we won't have Raoul back, like, one week after the kidnapping before anything even happened. What say you all?

OK speeding it up with one year sounds very good to me (nat i've reserved ed for you, i am gonna edit the weather feature so that it'll give the year (it was 2303 when the second battle of beruna was fought, so we said two years after they got back speeding up by one year that makes it 2306 or 2307 but i'm gonna go for 2307 'cause ed was kidnapped over the winter and that means we are in the age of exploration ) and the month. I am also thinking about some sort of calendar to specifically date stuff so like let me know what you'd think about that
So the plot as we have it right now:
The white witch is defeated. Narnia's heroes have yet again prevailed. Requesting Edmund from the witches cold clutches and sending Narnia into another era of peace and prosperity. But things will never be easy for the country nor for it's rulers. For one of their allies has went missing in the battler. Raoul of Archenland was not a mere soldier. He was king of his nation, a nation that now feels that is Narnia is still indebted by it. One year after the events that led up to the disappearing of the king, who now is presumed dead though his body was never found, his brother and current ruler of Archennland Wilmarc is demanding retrubution for his brothers supposed 'death'.
The price he came up with was a hefty one. The new king of Archenland demanded that one of the Kings of Narnia (and he couldn't care less to which one it would be) would marry one of the daughters of Archenland. And he already made up his mind about who he was to send to marry. Natalie Radalan though not a princess was one of the ambassadors for Archenland in Narnia. Now it is only the question if the new King of archenland will see his demands fulfilled and who it will be that Natalie then marries.
anything more to add please share, or rewrite or just tell me what you think i am coming up black to put it in long plotty words

This is what I came up with:
While he was away, the Archenland King's brother, Wilmarc, met in secret with a slave trader from Calormen, whom he paid to kidnap and sell his brother, in order to be rid of him so he could declare himself King. So Raoul was kidnapped and sold to a family in Calormen. Of course the King of Calormen, who has never seen him nor have any of the Calormen people, was not told of this deal. Surprisingly, he actually found the family to be halfway decent. Though still a slave, they treated him kindly and with respect. And after a year they even considered adopting him, until one day when the the husband found an old history book with a portrait of one of Raoul's ancestors, who he quite resembled. Realizing who he was, they let him free.
As a free man, Raoul didn't know what to do. Should he go back to Archenland, where his duties lay? Or make a new life in Calormen? While he did not want to be disloyal, Raoul had found he quite liked the "simple life" of a commoner. But news spreads fast, and Raoul soon heard of the marriage that would happen between Natalie Radalan and one of the Narnian Kings. Raoul, who is secretly in love with the woman, nearly died. Now, his only priority: Leave Calormen and stop that wedding!!
